Coombe Mill: A traditional family holiday
25/06/2015 16:40The greatest compliment that I can pay Coombe Mill is that it allows children to be children and it forces families to be families. Remember your own childhood, or traditional stories of a world that wasn't so wrapped up in technology and phone screens? Remember falling over, playing outdoors, paddling in streams and going on imaginary adventures? Remember skimming stones, rolling in the grass and swinging from climbing frames? Remember just being allowed to be a child and enjoy your surroundings? Coombe Mill not only allows you and your children to do this, but it practically forces you to. In the middle of nowhere and feeling seperated from the outside world, a short break here allows your family to play, relax and bond in a glorious setting.
As well as traditional playtime, we rode trains, tractors, made friends with and fed a variety of farm animals, enjoyed picnics, BBQ's and bounced on trampolines; We toured the harbour towns and countryside of Cornwall, ate and drank traditional treats from Britains food capital and marvelled at scenes straight out of an Enyd Blyton story. We had the best week at Coombe Mill, and can't thank Fiona, Nick and their family enough for their warm hospitality. We'll definitely be back... it's just a matter of when!
Check out a short video to get a real insight of just how good our week was:
