Family Halloween Day
25/10/2014 16:49Today was one of those perfect family days that you always hope will come about whenever you step foot out of the house but rarely actually do. Today we were lucky and it played out just right. We love Halloween in this house (mainly because my wife is half American and grew up there) but with 2 children under the age of 2 are still unable to celebrate it to its full potential. We can't go to dark, spooky evening events or go trick or treating but we do our best. Last year we all got into costume, decorated the house and greeted trick or treaters in style. We intend to do the same again this year. Today though we went in search of a Halloween themed activity that we could all enjoy as a family and we found the perfect solution.
We ended up at what was one of our favourite places to eat before we moved to a new town; Limes Farm. Limes Farm is a lovely family run farm which allows you to walk its grounds and enjoy the extensive list or culinary treats in it's delightful tearoom. We have enjoyed many an afternoon there but haven't been since we moved away from the area 10 months ago. It was our first time there in fact as a family of 4. We had received a newsletter, being part of their mailing list, and visited knowing that we would find halloween inspired treats on the menu and a pumpkin trail treasure hunt to enjoy in the grounds. We enjoyed pumpkin cake, donned our wellies and strolled around the farm in glorious Autumn weather. It was the simplest of days, but the best ones usually are! In fact, I'm just going to let some of the photographs tell this story for me instead...
