Beyonce speaks directly to me

20/10/2014 15:19

You know when you listen to a song and you feel like the artist has tapped directly into your mind? I love that. When your whole psyche changes and you feel raw emotion just by listening to music. I love that. I'm addicted to music and don't know where I would be if it didn't exist. I've been feeling really down lately. For months in fact; and I was listening to one of my favourite songs yesterday and it really sounded different to me all of a sudden... like it was me singing those lyrics, rather than just hearing them.

I wanna leave my footprints on the sands of time
Know there was something that, meant something that I left behind
When I leave this world, I'll leave no regrets
Leave something to remember, so they won't forget

I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I've done everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here

I want to say I lived each day, until I died
And know that I meant something in, somebody's life
The hearts I have touched, will be the proof that I leave
That I made a difference, and this world will see

I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I've done everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know

I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I've done everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here

I just want them to know
That I gave my all, did my best
Brought someone some happiness
Left this world a little better just because

I was here

Do you ever obsess about leaving a legacy and then being happy to leave the world behind? Is having children enough of a legacy? Do you ever wonder if creating children is as much as you can do for them, because you know they deserve more than what you can offer them? I don't feel like I could achieve anything more than to have been a part in creating the 2 most beautiful souls I've ever known. When music speaks directly to you and gains unrestricted access to your emotions, it's a powerful thing...

Music has always been a big part of who I am and has spoken to me. It's what has got me through some bad times. I am blessed to have my family too. Yes it's enough.

Having kids changes EVERYTHING and music IS a drug - totally agree.
I've never really given much thought to leaving a legacy, it seems enough just to have had the opportunity to be here.

Everything sounds and look different once you have kids I think. My husband suddenly became totally emotional at anything after we had the children and regularly cries at DIY Sos. I think its lovely to hear someone is in touch wit their sensitive side and the children will only benefit from this xx

Subject: Music Makes Music

Music is one of the most powerful things on the planet. It goes down deep inside and stirs feeling whether good or bad.

Good old Beyonce! You're right, music can convey very powerful emotions, and having children puts a mark on this world like nothing else.

I think that having children will do this to you! I think that it makes you see things differently and see and hear lyrics in a different way. Wires has a really prominent meaning for us as Maxi was very ill in hospital

Subject: The power of music

Music can be such a powerful tool and so emotive. I hope you start to feel a little better soon. The one song that always gets me feeling brighter at the moment is Pharrell's 'Happy'. At this time of year I always feel a little gloomy and good song can really help.
